Terms of Use
The rules for using Lusk, the Premium subscription and the content you add to the app.
Last updated: 28 October 2026
By downloading, accessing, or using Lusk ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not use the App.
Lusk is provided by Daniel Suske, Czech Republic ("we", "us"). Contact: dansuske@gmail.com.
1. General License
The App is licensed, not sold, to you. Subject to your agreement to these Terms, we grant you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited right to install and use the App on devices owned and controlled by you, and to access and use the App on such devices strictly in accordance with these Terms.
Where you obtained the App from the Apple App Store, it is governed by the standard Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), accessible here: Apple Standard EULA. Where you obtained it from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service apply to your download and purchases in addition to these Terms.
2. Premium Subscriptions (In-App Purchases)
Lusk offers auto-renewing subscriptions ("Premium") to unlock features such as unlimited recipe imports, AI generation, and family sharing. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to the following terms:
- Plans and Pricing: Available plans are Monthly, Yearly, and Family. The current price for each plan is displayed inside the app before purchase and may vary by region and currency.
- Free Trial: New subscribers receive a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription automatically converts to a paid plan at the price shown at signup.
- Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Billing: Your Apple ID or Google account — whichever store you purchased through — will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Management: After purchase you can manage your subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal in your Apple ID Account Settings on the App Store, or under Subscriptions in the Google Play Store, depending on where you purchased.
- Cancellations: Any current subscription cannot be canceled during its active period, but you may cancel the auto-renewal for the following periods.
- Restore Purchases: A Restore Purchases option is provided in the app's paywall screen for users reinstalling Lusk on a new device.
3. Your Content and Imported Recipes
3.1 Your content. You retain ownership of the recipes, lists and other content you create in the App.
3.2 Imported recipes as shared records. When you import a recipe from a link, the App extracts the method: the ingredients and their quantities, and the cooking steps as short functional instructions. The original author's narrative, commentary and photographs are not part of the record. The result is saved as a shared community record identified by the source address and language, credited with the source and a link to it, and visible to other users, so that the same page is imported once rather than repeatedly. Your name is not shown on an imported recipe: it is presented as a community record, not as your work. If you import a page someone has already imported in the same language, the App takes you to the existing record instead of creating a duplicate. Recipes you import from pasted text or from a photo of a recipe that is not your own stay private in your account. You choose what to import. By importing a link you confirm that the page is publicly accessible and that you are not knowingly importing content you are not allowed to use, and you are responsible for that choice (see clause 3.6). If you delete an imported recipe, it leaves your library and your profile; the shared record stays available to other users. When you delete your account, shared records that other users have saved, rated or reviewed remain, no longer linked to you; those nobody else uses are deleted. We keep a record of which links you imported from, as described in our Privacy Policy.
3.2a Photographs from the source page. We do not copy photographs from the source website onto our servers. Where the App shows a source photograph it is loaded directly from the original website, and only for people who have imported or saved that recipe — never in public listings. A photograph from a social-network post (such as Instagram, TikTok or Facebook) is stored with the recipe, because links to such posts expire, and is shown only to the person who imported it — not to people who saved the recipe, and never in Discover or other public listings. Where no photograph can be shown, the App shows a placeholder or an illustration that Lusk created with AI, marked with the Lusk sign; such an illustration is not a photograph of the actual dish.
3.2b Corrections. A shared record cannot be edited directly. You can report an error in it, which we review and correct centrally, or make your own private copy and change that copy freely. A private copy is never published: it stays in your account and is visible only to people you specifically share it with.
3.2c Your photographs of a dish. You may add one photograph of your own to a recipe you have rated. By adding it you confirm that you took the photograph yourself and that showing it breaches nobody's rights, and you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to store and display it in the App alongside that recipe for as long as you leave it there. Users can vote on these photographs, and the one with the most votes is shown as the recipe's main image. Your photograph is credited to you. You may delete it at any time, which ends that licence for future use.
3.3 Publishing your own content. You may publish a recipe only when you are its author — a recipe you created in the App, photographed and identified as your own, or generated with the App's AI. By publishing such a recipe you: (a) confirm that you have the right to share it; (b) grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display it within the App for as long as it remains published; and (c) accept responsibility for the content you have chosen to make public.
3.4 Acceptable use. You agree not to use the App to store or share content that is unlawful, offensive, or infringes the rights of others — including publishing content that you do not have the right to share.
3.5 Reporting and removal (notice and action). Anyone — whether or not they use the App — may notify us of content they consider unlawful or in breach of these Terms, using the report form, or by writing to dansuske@gmail.com, with enough detail to identify the content, an explanation of why they object to it, and a way to contact them. We confirm receipt without undue delay, decide in a diligent and non-arbitrary way, and tell the notifying party the outcome. Where we remove, hide, or restrict content, we give the person who provided it a statement of the reasons and of how to contest the decision, unless the law prevents us from doing so. If you disagree with a decision we have taken — either about content you provided or about a report you made — you may contest it free of charge by replying to the same address within six months, and we will review it again and respond. Nothing here affects your right to go to court or to use any out-of-court dispute settlement body available to you.
3.6 Your responsibility. You are responsible for all content you add to the App or cause to appear in it — recipes you create, publish or import, the links you import from, photographs, ratings, reviews, comments and posts — and for having the right to use it. Lusk does not verify this content before it appears — its accuracy, its origin, or whether you may use it; the automatic safety checks in clause 3.8 are not such verification. If a third party makes a claim against us because of content you provided or because you breached these Terms, you will compensate us for the resulting damage and reasonable costs, including legal costs, to the extent permitted by law. These obligations continue after you delete your account. Nothing in this section limits any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
3.7 AI features. Importing, recipe generation, recipe ideas and receipt reading use artificial intelligence provided by Google (Gemini). What you submit to these features is sent to Google for processing, as described in our Privacy Policy; the App asks for your agreement before the first use. AI output can be incomplete or wrong — including quantities, allergens, cooking times and food-safety advice — and is not professional dietary or medical advice. Check it before you cook. Recipes you generate are saved to your account and published like recipes you create, and you can make them private or delete them. You can report any AI-generated recipe from its menu.
3.8 Keeping the community safe. We automatically check text and photos that other users can see, and may refuse or remove content that breaks clause 3.4. In the App you can report any recipe, review, comment or post, and block any user; blocked users' content is hidden from you. We review reports, normally within 24 hours, and remove content and suspend accounts that break these Terms. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.
3.9 Our role. For content provided by users, including imported recipes, Lusk acts as a hosting service: we store and display it at users' request. We are not its author and do not adopt it as our own. We act on reports as described in clause 3.5.
4. Liability
4.1 The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties beyond those that mandatory law gives you. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
4.2 Recipes, nutritional values, allergens, quantities, cooking times and other information in the App come from users, from source websites or from AI, and may be incomplete or wrong. You use them at your own risk: check them before you cook, especially if you have an allergy or follow a medical diet. We are not responsible for content provided by users or for third-party websites the App links to.
4.3 To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, lost profit, or loss of data, recipes or lists, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Lusk Premium in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Keep your own copies of anything important to you.
4.4 Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — in particular for harm to life or health, or for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence — or your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.
5. Changes to the Terms
We may change these Terms, for example when we change the App or the law changes. We will tell you about material changes in the App at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you may stop using the App and delete your account before then; continuing to use it after the changes take effect means you accept them. Changes required by law or needed to protect users may take effect sooner.
6. Ending your use of the App
6.1 You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time (Settings → Account → Delete account).
6.2 We may restrict, suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms — in particular clause 3.4 — or if the law requires it. We will tell you the reasons and how to contest the decision (clause 3.5), unless the law prevents us from doing so.
6.3 When an account is deleted, your personal data and your private content are deleted as described in our Privacy Policy. Shared records of recipes imported from a link that other users have saved, rated or reviewed remain available to them, with no link to you; those nobody else uses are deleted. Your responsibility under clause 3.6 for what you imported continues. Deleting an account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play.
7. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection given by the mandatory rules of the country where you live. Consumers may have a dispute with us resolved out of court by the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce), adr.coi.cz.
